3 days in Seoul: the itinerary that covers everything

Palaces, markets, neighborhoods and night views โ€” three full days with zero zig-zagging across the city.

Three days is the classic Seoul trip โ€” long enough to feel the city, short enough that bad routing wastes it. This plan groups sights by neighborhood so you spend your days in places, not between them.

Day 1 โ€” Old Seoul (Jongno)

Start at Gyeongbokgung Palace for the morning guard ceremony, ideally in rented hanbok (free entry, and our hanbok guide explains the etiquette). Walk down into Bukchon Hanok Village before the crowds, coffee in a hanok cafรฉ, lunch near Insadong, then the lanes and tea houses of Insadong itself. Evening: the stream-lit walk along Cheonggyecheon into the neon of Jongno.

Day 2 โ€” Markets, mountain and the river

Breakfast grazing through Gwangjang Market (bindaetteok pancakes, mayak gimbap). Midday up Namsan by cable car to N Seoul Tower โ€” go on your clearest day. Afternoon in Myeongdong for skincare and street snacks. Finish with a Han River picnic: convenience-store supplies, a mat, sunset over the water โ€” our picnic guide has the exact formula.

Day 3 โ€” Young Seoul and one big choice

Morning in Hongdae: indie shops, buskers warming up, cafรฉ-hopping. Then pick your finale: Gangnam for modern Seoul (COEX, flagship stores, our neighborhood guide helps you choose), Itaewon for global food and the War Memorial museum, or the DMZ tour if history tops your list (book ahead, bring your passport). Last evening: a proper Korean BBQ dinner โ€” you've earned the full ceremony, and our beginner's BBQ guide runs the table for you.

Routing rules that make it work
